What Do We Do?

  • We ask about activities that worsen or improve your symptoms. Knowing how your symptoms respond to certain activities allows us to create a treatment plan tailored to your specific needs.

The best treatment outcomes are achieved when we identify and help you adjust the intensity, frequency, and duration of movement habits or activities that might be causing your symptoms. We always consider:

    • Load Intensity: The level of stress placed on the body by the activity.

    • Load Frequency: How often the activity is done.

    • Load Duration: How long the activity lasts.

  • Joint mobilisation techniques improve mobility, and decrease pain. This builds confidence when returning to physical activities that involve specific joint areas in the body.

These techniques help shift the joint from a "protective" to a "relaxed" state, encouraging easier movement and improved circulation in joint tissues, muscles, and nerves. This lays the groundwork for reducing pain and other symptoms.

  • We integrate massage into our Physiotherapy treatments, particularly in the early stages. Massage effectively relieves tension, stiffness, restricted mobility, and pain.

While massage can be firm or intense, it doesn't have to be painful to be helpful. In addition to being a crucial part of your Physiotherapy plan, we also offer massage services for:

    • Promoting relaxation and overall well-being

    • Pre and post-sports performance improvement

    • Managing daily discomforts like tightness and minor aches

  • We couple our massage and manual therapy interventions with "active" alternatives that empower you to manage your symptoms independently, should the need or preference arise. These include:

    • Static stretching

    • Dynamic stretching

    • Self-Mobilisation

  • Gradually increasing strength and conditioning is essential for rehabilitation. We make sure you develop the right amount of strength and control based on where you are in your recovery process. Our aim is to carefully map out your improvement so that by the end of treatment, you not only reach but exceed your previous level of function. This ensures you're fully ready to resume not only your everyday tasks, but also your work and sporting activities too.

Do I need a referral?

You don’t need a referral from a doctor to see a Physiotherapist. Having said that, we prefer to keep your GP in the loop. With your consent, we collaborate with your GP, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to address complex injuries and conditions.

You can count on clear and open communication as we work together to help you achieve your health and rehabilitation goals.
